This practice is to render selfless service to the community and there by fulfill the dream of the visionary social reformer late Shri. Baliram Patil on whose name the college runs. He insisted that health and education should be right of every individual which the people of this region are deprived off. Hence, the practice is a step forward in the dream fulfillment of the legendary person and also discharging institutional social responsibility

    The Practice: :

The College has a very active Blood Donation club functioning under the leadership of NSS. It inspires the students to care for one another and promote community relationships. The functioning of the club is in such a way that the club identifies the blood group of students. After getting permission from students and their parents, a directory is maintained in the college that keeps a record of blood groups and the contact details of the donors. Genuine patients could approach the club and students with the compatible blood groups are deputed with the permission from their parents for donating blood. A register on the names of the deputed students is kept by the club. The students who donated blood were given certificates. The aim of the campaign is to highlight the key role of voluntary nonremunerated blood donation for strengthening social relationships and to boost the community participation towards a healthier society.

    Evidence of Success:

A leader can always be a doer. Similarly our President of the college Governing body, Principal, staff both teaching and non-teaching have donated blood profusely whenever required. They are role models. Through these kinds of healthy practices many students got enlightened about the importance of blood donation. The local hospitals or the needy persons through their approach contact our college desk when they are in need of blood.

    Problems Encountered and Resources Required:

The voluntary organizations and the volunteers of our college combat with the conceptualized minds of most students. Many students do not have the basic or clear thought about the importance and use of blood donations. They have their own pre-conceived notions about blood donating. If anyone donates blood, the quantum of blood in the body decreases; some donors will get high blood pressure because of the decrease of blood. It will take time for them to carry on their day to day regular domestic and habitual activities. There will be an increase in body weight. In many occasions the parents act negatively though their sons or daughters willingly come forward for blood donation. Students who have donated blood are given adequate nutritious food and sufficient rest. Even if they want to go home they are permitted. They are taken care by the college authorities in many ways.
